Transformation of eggshell waste to egg white protein solution, calcium chloride dihydrate, and eggshell membrane powder

Abstract The present study investigated the possibility of complete utilization eggshell waste (ESW) transforming it to adherent egg white protein solution, calcium chloride dihydrate, and membranes (ESM). Adherent solution was obtained by washing ESW three times with distilled water at 25°C, followed filtration, analyzed for content lysozyme activity. ESM were simultaneously exposure washed eggshells 5% hydrochloric acid treatment 25°C 3 h, separation filtration. separated washed, dried, milled powder lipid content. exposed neutralization excess hydroxide, evaporation one-tenth volume. Calcium crystals precipitated from concentrated acetone, dried 110°C, chemical composition purity. results revealed that 100 g can be transformed 1.61 ± 0.34 proteins containing 485,821 U activity, 2.84 0.16 powder, 108.74 3.62 dihydrate high
